I teach 8th grade English Language Arts at Mott Hall III. I’ve been teaching for approximately two years with the New York City Teaching Fellows. I graduated from St. John’s University with a Master’s of Science in Education.
Prior to teaching at Mott Hall III, I worked with an organization called Citizen Schools, which is an extended learning day program for middle school, geared towards assisting students in low-income communities. With this organization, I was able to work with students on homework in both ELA and Math, as well as apprenticeships such as Commercial Making, Mock Trial, and Art. Through these apprenticeships, I was able to give students education on 21st Century skills and prepare them for their future colleges and careers.
I began my career as a freelance reporter for Patch.com with AOL. This organization hones in on specific communities, and reports on the events of that community.
